Lost Spaces Zine

Lost Spaces, 2018

Lost Spaces is a risograph-printed zine focusing on spaces that Toronto has lost in the recent past: DIY music venues, convenience stores, video rental stores, all places that may not have been properly commemorated. It is jarring to realize that one no longer recognizes the city one lives in, a feeling that many Toronto residents are familiar with as marginal businesses and communities are increasingly often erased by the forces of gentrification. This zine was intended to pay homage to both this feeling and to such sites, which were great reservoirs of cultural memory that can no longer be accessed spatially.
